Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is a national resource center that promotes children’s social-emotional development and school readiness. The website offers scripted stories for social settings, tools for relationship building and creating behavior support plans, and ideas for teaching social-emotional skills. The For Teachers/Caregivers area includes Book Nook, a series of articles that describe how to use books support children’s social-emotional development.

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is dedicated to improving the educational success of children with disabilities and/or gifts and talents. Teachers will find a resources and information on topics like disabilities and talents, challenging behavior relating to special needs, and instructional strategies.

Family Communications, Inc. is a nonprofit organization founded by Fred Rogers that creates programs for children, families, and teachers. The site offers resources for parenting and teaching on topics like sharing, understanding differences, and addressing children’s fears.

Playing for Keeps, an initiative of the Association for Children’s Museums, shares information and the latest research on play with parents and professionals. The site contains resources on the value of play for educators and parents.

The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs. TACSEI offers research-based products and resources to help decision makers, caregivers, and service providers improve the social-emotional outcomes for young children with, or at risk for, delays or disabilities.

What Happened to MY World? from Bright Horizons offers information and two free downloadable books for adults to use to help children process and understand traumatic events.
