Dressing for the Weather and Outside Play
Please send your child to school every day with the following items to make sure they can comfortably participate in outdoor activities. An extra set of dry clothes including socks and underwear in a ziploc bag gives them something to change into should they get wet. Boots/rubbers would be a good idea on any day the play yard is possibly wet (snow and puddles can remain in our playground area far longer than on the roads). Snowpants/mittens/hats should be sent when snow is on the playground or when temps are low enough to warrant any of these.

NUT FREE SCHOOL
Dear Parents, The Burlington Academy of Learning is a CANDY AND NUT FREE SCHOOL. Allergies related to various nuts can be extremely serious if not life threatening. Please do not send any snacks to school that contain nuts or nut oils. Also, refrain from bringing snacks from facilities that manufacture/prepare their products alongside nut products.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and your adherance to this important rule.

About our Community Connection:
The Burlington Academy is committed to educating the whole child. A caring heart is as important as a strong mind. Our first approach is through the caring role models within the class and school in general and the inclusion of monthly Character Development Themes in the curriculum. Then, through a series of outreach programs within our local and world community we foster a sense of responsibility for self and others.
