HISTORY OF The Academy
January 1992 - The Academy began as a Bright Beginnings Nursery School by Kim McDonnell, Head of School. Bright Beginnings was started to offer a learning environment for two-year children structured as a Nursery School rather than a daycare. Bright Beginnings grew, in Kim’s home, to offer two, three and four year old Preschool and Summer Programs.

Fall 1997 - As a result of its growth, Bright Beginnings became The Burlington Academy of Learning and moved to its current location. The Academy added both half and full-day Kindergarten Programs as well as extended day options to serve the growing needs of Burlington and surrounding communities.

Today - The Burlington Academy of Learning still resides in the center of Burlington but has grown significantly. Our programs now include Nursery School, Prekindergarten, Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Kindergarten Enrichment, Before and After School Programs and Summer Programs.

THE SCHOOL LOCATION Driving Directions
The Burlington Academy of Learning is in the center of Burlington off Route 4, on Covey Road. The Academy is located on several acres of wooded property, which is perfect for hiking and exploring, near a running stream, adjoining a State of Connecticut Wildlife Preserve.
